Volunteer Driver Scheme
What is the VDS?
The Car Club In A Box Volunteer Driving Scheme provides a service within the club for those who do not drive but would like or need access to accessible and affordable transport.
How does the VDS work?
With the CCIAB bespoke register and booking system:
* Non-driver members can request specific or flexibly journeys, driven by club volunteer drivers.
* Club volunteers can accept or leave journey requests at the click of a button. Thus taking the pressure away from volunteering
* Your clubs coordinator or lead can support members and volunteers where needed
Who can become a VDS Volunteer?
Anyone with a full UK licence, no more than 6 points can apply to become a VDS Volunteer
The Car Club would need to complete the following steps before to register the Volunteer within the club:
* Online Registration
* Licence checks
* Address Checks
* Apply for a enhanced DBS
* Welcome
* Car Induction
* Test Drive
How can a VDS support your community?
The Car Club In A Box Volunteer Driving Scheme enables the club to open membership up to non-drivers within the community whilst offering volunteer opportunities to others.
From helping people travel and attend
* vital surgery and hospital appointments
* providing a community transport option for people to get to and from social visits
* supporting people to get their regular shopping without the struggles of public transport or the cost of private transport
The VDS can be an essential service working side by side with other options of transport within your community
